The Train Stops Here

The Metra Union Pacific North Line runs from downtown Chicago to Kenosha, Wisconsin. North Chicago, Illinois is the twentieth of twenty-four stops as it travels north; 23 trains in each direction on weekdays, 11 trains in each direction on Saturdays, and eight trains in each direction on Sundays.

Prior to 1986, there was a “limited-service” commuter station just south of the current location exclusively serving Abbott Laboratories, and one official station just north. The two were combined in 1986.
