Mitch

The Musician

I have been in North Chicago since July 3, 2016. I have a lot of support here. You know, just starting out with the music and stuff– I'm getting a lot of love here, rather than being anywhere else. My mom and dad have bought a house here when he retired from the military. They've been here for five years now. Every year I've came to visit at least twice. Okay, so I'm a little familiar with the area but as far as acquaintance with other people, not so much.

What had you been doing in Kansas City?

Just taking care of my son. I was married at the time.

I am an R&B artist– hip hop vocalist, and I am also a producer. The most notable of my projects that I have completed would be this one I recently came out with– it was intimacy. You know, I put out, I promote a lot of music that I do. And sometimes it doesn't catch the attention. But this has caught the most of the attention because it's, you know, it's for couples and stuff. It's to bring back the spice in their lives and stuff like that. Yeah, this is the most successful project that I've had thus far.

Artistic endeavors can be tough. Timing and networking often have as big if not bigger impact on critical success. What do you aspire to or hope for?

I just hope that I can connect with people on an intellectual level. I want people to understand what I sing about. Because I've been through, you know, what some people have been through, I might not have been through worse situations or better situations, but it's there. You know,

Every morning, I wake up, I scroll down my Instagram feed. And I'm just a hungry artist. I follow a lot of famous people, and I see things that they do they make videos and opportunities for artists to you know, get their spotlight. And that motivates me to keep going, you know, it's not really anything around here, musically. But I just got that strong faith. So I'm going to keep doing it and maybe for another 40 years. Well, I am going to be doing it for another 40 years, even if I don't ever come across signing a contract. So it's a passion.

What trait Do you possess that others admire in you?

Motivation. I am very optimistic. I could be having a bad day, but I'm still still looking at the bright side of things, you know?

What do you like most about North Chicago?

It is very quiet and peaceful. You got time. If you want to start a business up here, you got to time. Work hard and plan. You know, there's nothing that's gonna stand in your way unless you're out here fooling around. I can tell you for sure that this is a good place to go to school and raise your kids. It really is.

You mentioned that both your parents are still here. How would they describe you, in three words?

My parents would describe me is very energetic, outgoing and loving.
